In the year 2000, Caleb’s coffee was the hottest coffee in the country.
And with it, Caleb, his family, and friends began to understand that it was time to do something different.
Caleb and his father, Dan, began a partnership with coffee roaster Lavazza Coffee Roasters in 2008.
Since then, Lavazzas coffee has become synonymous with a certain type of coffee that is unique to Caleb.
“We were always talking about what coffee was like, and Lavazs coffee was always going to be that coffee,” Caleb says.
Cascade Coffee started in 2009, and it’s the first coffee roasting company Caleb has ever worked for.
“It’s a little bit different to what we were doing with Lavazas coffee, but it’s a lot of the same coffee,” he says.
Caleb says the new coffee will be different than the one he used to love.
“I want it to be a little different,” Caleb said.
“Caleb loves to work with a lot different people, and I think that’s the way he wants to work.”
Cascade will use a blend of organic, non-GMO coffee beans that are made from 100 percent American-grown beans.
It’s a blend Caleb says is better for him than the current coffee he’s used.
“The coffee is a little stronger,” Caleb explains.
“But I like to work in the coffee business and I want to do my best.”
Caleb says Lavazzeras coffee is the most expensive he’s ever spent.
“When we first started, I was like $2,000 per cup,” Caleb admits.
“Then I got a few things, like a little more, and that’s what I like.
It’ll be a lot cheaper.”
Caleb is confident that the new Lavazzyas coffee will make him a lot happier.
“This will make me happy,” he said.
“The Coffee: The Coffee” is available on DVD.
